When you buy a pair of Galaxy Buds they include the new charging case which is arguably one of the best features from them. The built-in power within this case can provide up to 9 hours of continuous use for both buds when they’re fully charged (2 full charges on the case itself). In 1-hour charge you can get about 3 full charges for the buds and this is one of the best features from Samsung.

The original Galaxy Buds have a unique design with three key elements: earbuds, cable management loop which is also used to secure them in your ears without falling down by connecting it to your earlobe and the charging case.

This Galaxy Buds version is very simple to use – you just pull them out of the charging case, put them in your ears and you’re ready to use them! The battery life is a few hours of listen or talk time. The earbuds are lightweight at only 2g each one so they feel natural and comfortable when you wear them. If the fit is not snug enough you can use the earbuds tips in three different sizes to get a perfect fit in your ears. The devices also have a earbud fit test and multiple ear tips for size. Water resistance is another popular feature.

The best thing about Samsung Galaxy Buds is that they’re affordable – for this low price you’ll get a pair of extremely useful wireless earbuds but there are also some drawbacks. Now let’s learn about the upgrade to these earbuds in our Galaxy Buds 2 review.

Galaxy Buds 2 Review

The second generation Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 earbuds will be available soon so it’s a good idea that we do a Galaxy Buds 2 review to learn more about them and why Samsung released the new model in 2021.

The original Galaxy Buds had some flaws in its design and functionality – the main one is that the earbuds only worked with Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets, so if you have an Android or iOS device you can’t use them.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 help you to immerse yourself in your own world thanks to noise cancellation tech. These Galaxy Buds 2 open up a new world of sound so you can get lost in what you love. The well-balanced audio of Galaxy Buds2 combines with a lightweight comfort fit, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology and seamless connectivity to your wireless devices whether it be your mobile phone, tablet or smartwatch. Powered with intuitive controls and powerful ANC to keep you immersed when working out, gaming, or jamming to your beats.

Galaxy Buds2 Noise Cancellation and Audio Performance

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 offers excellent noise control for the price and a major selling point. The earphones reduce treble at low frequencies so that even in airplane condition they do not disturb the ears. At highly impregnable listening levels the drivers do not depolarize and in moderate frequencies the bass still feels pretty intensive.

The noise cancellation is not deprived of any treble/high-frequency presence but the brightness can usually take a backseat to the bass. The 3-channel array provides strong audio intelligibility even with background noise.

The overall audio clarity is solid. The headset is surprisingly less effective at dialing down heavy lows and similarly high in the earphone spectrum all while balancing the much-beloved noise cancellation. Ambient mode allows users to remove wind noise through machine learning based solutions.

Hear Clearly & Speak Confidently

Three total microphones are encapsulated in a curved designed that helps to reduce wind noise while the machine-learning based solution filters unwanted sound.

Galaxy Buds 2 are designed to deliver — and send — each and every word of your conversation crisply and clearly, whether you’re chatting with a Grandma or closing that six-figure deal .Results are based on Samsung internal lab testing subject to POLQA(Perceptual Objective Listening Quality Analysis), a global standardized test for call quality.

Choose the sound you want to hear thanks to the two microphones ability to detect ambient noise. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) blocks unwanted sound to keep you fully immersed in your music, games, audiobooks, and your favorite podcasts. This is a big upgrade from Buds Live.

It should be noted that ANC (Active Noise Canceling) is on by default, and the touch and hold gesture for ANC can be configured in the Galaxy Wearable app. Changing the three levels of ambient sound on the Galaxy Buds 2 volume can be set up on any Galaxy Wearable app.

Easy connection to your Samsung Devices or Galaxy wearable app which is an upgrade from the Galaxy Buds Pro and Buds Live models. Ambient mode and touch controls give users the ultimate sound and power when listening.

Unlike the Galaxy Buds Pro, these new earbuds offer support for the proprietary scalable codec that is Samsung’s current standard audio streaming format utilized on Galaxy devices. The earbuds also offer support the very popularly used AAC codec as well. However, like the Buds Pro they do not support or allow for usage of the aptX streaming audio codec which is supported by some Android devices. These are indeed an upgrade from the previous Buds Plus with enhanced call quality.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Charging Case

Galaxy Buds2 buds now have a smaller charging case so you can easily carry them around and take care of them with improved battery life of five hours to 7.5 hours to boot. Another positive selling point.

Wireless charging is an additional upgrade with case charging done via USB C & USB C port. The devices are easily managed with settings on an app as well. These buds live and breathe high quality sound and the touch controls make them a breeze to use.

Live in your your world the way it’s meant to be heard thanks to booming bass and crystal clear treble via the Buds Plus two-way dynamic speakers and take life to new depths thanks to the water resistance capabilities.

Galaxy Buds Plus gives you well-balanced sound quality and great app compatibility, much nicer than Buds Plus for example that makes you feel like you’re on stage with your favorite band. Hear it like you’re there each and every play time.

Four Color Options

Galaxy Buds2 ear bud is delivered in a stylish design and a case that can fit your own special style. Its compatible cradle design makes your headphones safe, re-chargeable and ready to go. The Galaxy Buds 2 case is opened with two ear buds inside and displays on the exterior of the case.

The case is placed in front of a beautiful pool of water with a wooded area below and a desert sky full of lavender colours. With a wide compatible cradles the case is secure and rechargeable through wireless charging all with booming bass.

The new design comes with new colorways as seen below including:

Galaxy Buds 2 Price

These earbuds are a great price at $149.99. Lower price point from the previous Galaxy Buds Pro / Buds Pro models with enhanced battery life, deeper bass, easier to use controls and more. The ears will be singing the praise for days after the 5 hours of extended ANC listening thanks to Samsung’s innovations.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Summary

Our Galaxy Buds 2 Review Verdict

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 are an improvement compared to the original. These provide active noise cancelation (ANC) mode, better sound quality and excellent fit with runtime up to 11 hours. A great list of selling point. While not the best true wireless earbud out there they are easily one of the best for Samsung smartphones which want perfect synchronicity with Galaxy Gear app software. Very comparable with a lower price point than the Sony WF-1000XM4.

All with performance when it comes to connectivity and great touch controls and moderate price. In the original version users were complaining that sometimes calls or music start/stop abruptly depending on their mode but these issues should be solved with the new model and enhanced sound thanks to the active noise cancellation. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 also have a better life support and app connectivity – the new case can provide up to 10 hours of continuous sound use dependent on mode for both buds while offering two full charges.

Galaxy Buds 2 Review Bottom Line

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 come with powerful active noise cancellation while the headphones still carry the same low water resistant capacity ratings. 5 hours or more of listening time with powerful bass, easy to use controls and wonderful phone connectivity. The latest galaxy device is another hit for Samsung’s list of award-winning products. Android lovers will rejoice at the level of bass their devices are able to exemplify and their ears will thank then. This is likely one of the best android hands free listening releases in recent years. More than an entry level product and a great model compared to the Sony WF-1000XM4.
